I'm Overstimulated!!!!

Seems to be a phrase we use lately!
Sorry for the lack of postings...truth is obviously we have been busy..but the whole family has been doing well! We have officially completed our first five week round of daycare (it rotates around Jon's work schedule.) All went very well! Jon took Madeline in for the first week while he worked overnights so he could get some sleep. Maddie adjusted well to the daycare...Jon..sort of did. He ended up waking up a couple of times during normal daytime sleep hours looking around the house for Maddie...then realizing she was at daycare....but we're all good. Maddie did great...she wakes up very happy and comes home very happy after a day with the kids. We have noticed though that bedtime gets a little earlier since she doesn't nap all that well during the day with all sorts of things going on! I mean...would you??? So much activity! Toys, new kids...new people!! So much to do and see!! So we coin the phrase "I'm overstimulated!!!!" Which seems to run in the family since these are the first words uttered by Jon right after Madeline was born...yeah..that's right...the nurse asked him if he wanted to take pictures...and all he said was "I'm overstimulated!"

Madeline is growing and happy and healthy, we are so thankful for our gift from God! Every day we have new milestones to enjoy...We like to sit up..(with help) and look around on the counter while mom & dad make dinner...we now can put ourselves to sleep (most times) when it is time...and we have found our most favorite companion.....our thumb!

We enjoyed the final game of the world cup with a visit from Matt, Trish and Nolan who were in town...Sad to say none of the teams we chose won it all...but we enjoyed the game...funny though...it went to overtime...and Daddy missed the goal scored because the US census guy came to the door....

Wow!!!..other highlights.....
Madeline saw her first fourth of July fireworks..half from the top of the American Family parking structure...and half from Alliant Energy parking lot...(we'll choose wiser locations next year)...but she enjoyed them ..she slept:)

Tons of rain this past week..Madison got 6 inches...it was a pond in our backyard..but no issues...also found out Maddie can sleep through thunderstorms...well sort of...she isn't scared of them...but wakes up for the thunder.....

oh...and while I type this I am seeing an ad for a Snuggie sweatshirt...says "Property of Snuggie..XXL" unbelievable...people buy anything...
