It is a nice fall Saturday morning, We awake from a deep sleep and meander into the kitchen to put on a pot of coffee. Time to relax, taking in the morning, add creamer..add more creamer...well, a little more....and sit back. Not even have we touched the coffee to our lips when we hear a little grunt, then a little voice..which becomes louder and more "stern" sounding.....no wait..not stern, commanding...and two little words are emitted through the crack in the door from the voice emulating room.....
"Sit Down"
We take a look, the light is just catching through the window and the nightlight is on, to see the silhouette of Madeline sitting up in her crib, with an array of stuffed animals all lined up nicely along the railing..."Sit down"... as she places another one unevenly on a ruffled blanket..and then it happens..it topples over...
"Sit Down NOW"
So begins phrases, those cute little words that you hear all kids say, the ones they say in public that makes all the grownups laugh.......I smile as I think that this will be fun...Then realization hits us as we know we are to obey.
As we walk into the room to say good morning, she immediately stands up and wants to be lifted out of the crib. Our morning starts with opening the toy box and emptying out more stuffed animals...and then commanding me by the three choice words "Sit Down NOW" to place them on the toy box. Not on the top of the toy box in a nice flat surface, but on the ledge of the open toy box...like a crazy stuffed animal tightrope walk circus. This goes on for an hour...Melissa and I put them up, they topple down only to a resounding "Sit DOWN NOW" command. Finally we're done...we leave the room to go finish the remnants of our room temperature coffee with a ton of creamer. I sit down in the chair...
"Sit Down"
huh??
"Sit Down Now!"
She just kicked me out of my chair, and climbed up to sit.
Fun times:) She hasn't learned "I love you" yet:)
