Brace Yourself

Lets face it, we're not professional writers. In fact, I will do my best to keep the spelling errors to a minimum. The following are random thoughts as we reflect on life and our beautiful family. Hope family and friends enjoy!

Oh Man....Golf...

This actually was quite the experience for the whole family.  I mean, Maddie has had experience and exposure to golf, she got a small set of clubs about six months ago and is pretty adept at setting up the tee and hitting the ball. She makes her Papa proud. With any luck she'll be in the LPGA in no time...but first is practice, and what better way than our first episode of mini-golf. It was actually a pretty fun scenario.  The whole family was excited.  Jon for golf, Maddie just in general since she probably didn't understand what exactly mini golf was when we were explaining it to her, and Melissa since she has an ultimate goal to beat Jon at his own game.  Alas she remembers the one time when she smoked Jon in Brookfield at the local mini golf course.  I believe there were a couple water hazard penalties in there...yeah.  Anyway, Jon's work was holding their annual summer employee event at Vitense Golfland; an indoor extravaganza of golf, video games and driving ranges. It was a good chance to head out and hang with the Coopers as well, and especially to get the kiddos together. We completed I think three holes out of eighteen in their entirety. Both Maddie and Ella had a blast picking up the balls and finding the hole to put them in. At one point Melissa looked up to see a long arching red spot in the air...was it a bird, plane...no...it was a golf ball....screaming through the air destined for the bottom of the man made indoor lake.  And on the other end were two little girls smiling ear to ear.  That was hole three.  And from there they just got more interesting.  The following holes were filled with obstacles to climb on, chairs, characters, and the culmination was a slide to slide down.  There was a hump in the middle and both the girls got airborne.  It was a great time for both families!!  And of course a trip for ice cream topped off the evening!
