Brace Yourself

Lets face it, we're not professional writers. In fact, I will do my best to keep the spelling errors to a minimum. The following are random thoughts as we reflect on life and our beautiful family. Hope family and friends enjoy!

Won't You Be My Valentine.....

So its Valentines day...2014..and what a great day to celebrate our family.  We all woke up this morning and wished each other a happy day and gave each other and extra special hug for the special day...but as Maddie noted..."but we hug each other EVERY day!!!"  Yes Maddie, yes we do:)  So it was off to work for Melissa and Papa and Maddie had the day together.  It started out typical...crazyness around the house..a few books, multiple snacks...a trip to target..and our first trip through a car wash...which is a HUGE deal for us..cause we NEVER get the car washed..in the words of Melissa..."the rain does that:)  So Maddie was very apprehensive..but in the end she liked the experience of the no touch wash...for some reason I think she was apprehensive thinking she was actually going to be OUTSIDE of the car..in the car wash..getting sprayed....in 20 degree weather...yeah...not so....  But all in all it was a good experience and the car ended up getting clean...of course the forecast is for snow in the next couple days.....humph....
So Maddie and Papa went home to start a special valentines day project...a heart necklace...with glitter....yeah...Papa has had no experience with glitter....and Maddie has...she loved it..she cut all the heart shapes out..put the glue on them and "sprinkled" dumped glitter on them.   With assistance from Papa of tieing the necklace together, we had art....and hung it out to dry..then we "cleaned up"...and are still cleaning up..glitter on the sink...table, floor..and when papa showered he had glitter on his face.....  The necklace was a huge hit...and after a wonderful card from Maddie and Mama to Papa, and cards from Maddie, Papa and Baby to Mama..we ended up the night with huge hugs and a great dinner of baked salmon, baked potatoes and green beans...rounded out with raspberry rubarb cake by Melissa for dessert!  Thank you family for a great Valentines Day!!
P.S.  As well as a great day it was a chaotic day as well..Papa decided to install a recessed light in the master bedroom walk in closet..so Mama came home to insulation ALL OVER THE FLOOR...I secretly believe she thought she was going to have to cook dinner...but NO!!! Not on Valentines day!!!   Papa knows he can multitask at least a couple days of the year!!!  And of course in the course of "multitasking" papa hid the cards so the family woud'nt stumble upon them...which resulted in them getting lost for an additional hour...so thanks family for being good sports and opening your cards later than Papa!!  All in all the house is clean and the tummys are fulll...Love my family...:)
