Brace Yourself

Lets face it, we're not professional writers. In fact, I will do my best to keep the spelling errors to a minimum. The following are random thoughts as we reflect on life and our beautiful family. Hope family and friends enjoy!

Spring Is Here = Do Work

The above title is not meant to be a burden; in fact it is actually a welcome change.  It has been a crazy winter and the onset of spring and somewhat nice weather unearths some unknowing motivation to get started and get stuff done!  There is always something to do..and the nice weather just make you want to jump up a little and accomplish something!!!  We sure know that Maddie is ready for spring...ever day she is asking to ride her big girl bike, even early in February when it was hanging in the rafters!  This past month we were able to finally get it down..and start to make the bike rides regular outings.
It was actually really, really nice...Jon came home from work during the day this past week and it was 60 degrees.  We decided to go on a family outing/bikeride to the park.  It was just one of those moments as a family when you sat back and watched Maddie speed off on her bike...walked slowly, breathed the fresh air and we both thought to ourselves...life is good..we are blessed.  Our 45 minute outing was capped off by some time at the park..and then what was really cool was a storm came in and we all got caught in the rain...the last block walk to the house was kind of neat...a welcome warm rain to start the spring season off just right.
Oh yeah..the work part...well, its has been busy.  Of course there are the normal proceedings around the house..the day care, the work schedules and the everyday house happenings...of course we have a number of projects in the works.....mostly construction projects..and the creation of our fourth bedroom into a playroom/bedroom combo to allow the upstairs bedroom to transition back into a nursery:)  This past weekend we had to opportunity to really pound out some progress.  Omi and Opi Schweinert were really awesome to take Maddie for the night while Jon and Melissa did some organization.  Maddie even came back with a special birdhouse project that she made.  It was pretty neat.  We were both impressed.  The weekend was successful and Jon & Melissa even had a chance to go on a cool date.  It was dinner and a movie..but was really a relaxing time.  We even discovered a new (well new to us) chinese restaurant in downtown Sun Prairie.  WE decided that this would become a frequented restaurant; fast, inexpensive and really, really good.  And the Madster would love it also.  The movie we saw was Divergent; which was good...Jon thought the book was better...but what a great time.  We woke up refreshed ready to tackle our project list.  Jon is in the process of making furniture for the downstairs playroom that is a knockoff of pottery barn...and it is turning out pretty nicely.  Melissa is in the process of creating a lego table for the Madster..complete with storage..and also getting all the baby stuff ready...so we really rocked out some progress on these projects.  Many thanks for the Schweinerts for watching Maddie and allowing us some cool time together!!!
