You see it all started by the humming in the kitchen...it started out as a humming, then more of a whoosh...then more of a helicopter....and it was our fridge...it is original to the house...but just was gettng loud. The concern was starting to rise about the reliability of this unit...could it keep stuff cold? would it keep us up at night?...or would it one day become a very large paperweight....
So Melissa and I had talked that before miniature Meyer arrived we would probably have to upgrade to a more reliable unit. Turns out Jon's parents are remodling their kitchen and then had a two year old fridge that we were able to aquire...so thus addition number one to the appliance party. With the coordination of Jon's dad we were able to get the unit transported from New Berlin to Sun Prairie...with a few bathroom breaks on the way....:) Many thanks to Edwin (neighbor) and his muscles for helping us get this thing in the door..and many thanks also to Jon's dad for hooking up the water!!! Fridge works great!
Oh..but the party is not over....progress is in the works to upgrade the stove to a gas stove and range...turns out Melissa's parents are also remodeling and we may be aquiring their gas stove and range....coordination is in the works for a gas line to be ran in the house to feed the unit...and hopefully with in the next few months we'll be cooking with fire again!!!!
Oh..and on a side note.....we had an awesome experience getting rid of our old fridge..turns out our recycling faciltity doesnt take these types of units anymore..but a quick internet search by Melissa turned up the states Focus on Energy program which basically sent a truck to pickup our fridge..it was awesome..such a hassle free experience......and nice for Jon since even though he is completely buff...he didn't want to move a fridge again......
