Our biggest littlest lady sure has been pumped to be outside and starting the summer sports routine. We had a full docket of activities planned for her. During the month of May she was involved in tennis lessons. This was a once a week hour long lesson on a Saturday that taught the beginner fundamentals of the sport. And the instructor was hilarous....Melissa and I commented on how she maintains her enthusiasm each week...with a slew of four year olds running around..forming lines..listening to instructions can be challenging at times....and of course Maddie likes to conversate with everyone..which is cute....oh..and some skills were learned...forehand, backhand..running accross the court and hitting on the fly as well as teamwork...Maddie was reluctant to use the "one hand forehand approach" and instead gripped the racket with hands of steel..UNTIL she did it once and realized that she could CRUSH the ball twice as far if she wound up..and wind up she did....sometimes missing..but more often than not connecting with the ball...it was a great rewarding experience..and one I'm sure we will repeat....now she is after me to get an "M" on her racket....she saw the shock absorber I had on mine when we were practicing...it was a "W" for Wilson...but she wants an "M" for Madeline....:)
Right now during the Month of June we dove (literally) headstrong into swimming lessons....Maddie is a "Whale" in the Sun Prairie swim program...and thoroughly enjoys lessons...she splashes around, listens to directions well, is learning back floats, front crawl, water safety and putting her head in the water....sometimes....you really can't go wrong when there are games and ice cream at home at the end....really..come on....Maddie really is pumped since she gets to showcase her skills in front of Mama, Papa and Morgen as we all came to watch the second week....next up...more swimming and SOCCER!!!! Go Maddie!
