Holy cow...our family really is blessed. This past Tuesday Morgen was officially three weeks old...and just taking time to think back how this past three weeks has flown by and how many activities we have fit in just make my head spin....First of all..the family is all happy and healthy..Morgen is continuing to grow and eat very well...in fact at her two week appointment she weighed in at 8lbs 13oz which is up from 7lbs 3oz from her hospital discharge weight..which is precisely on schedule. She is growing well in all catagories...the past weeks have seen her show more awake time and she is learning to master the "stare without cross-eyes" technique. No longer can Papa always look at her and say..."If you are hungry...if you are poopy...if you love your family....then....."stare with cross eyes:)"
Sleep is coming..in spurts....Morgen sleeps all the time...although she seems to be somewhat noctornal..and we are just seeing some changes in that she is staying just a little content more in the evenings....although as all parents know..there is a certain time of night...the "witching hour" which Morgen has identified as anytime between 730 and 10pm.
Mom continues to be a rockstar juggling all sorts of home things with caring for our newest blessing..in fact she single handedly took Maddie to her swimming lessons when Morgen was two weeks old...they stood under the canopy and watched. THANK YOU to Marilyn for spending the Wednesday and Thursday with us during the first week of Swimming lessons...while Jon was on night shift...we REALLY appreciate the help, cleaning, time to relax and the bonding with Maddie and Morgen...thank you!
Special thanks to all of the family's support and visitors..we love all you guys. We were able to come home from the hospital the Thursday after Morgen was born and boy was her big sister Madeline happy to see us! Special thanks to Grandma Meyer for holding down fort Meyer and taking care of Maddie while we were at the hospital. Maddie and Grandma met Morgen at the hospital the day she was born so they were excited to see how she had grown (slightly) in a couple days. We took a ton of first Big Sister pictures and Morgen presented Maddie with her gift of a princess wand and slipper....she LOVES them and we hear "clop, clop, clop" all over the house...I think she cast a spell on me the other day.....We were also visited by Omi and Opi to see their newest Granddaugher..and the visit was awesome..a time just to let Morgen adapt and meet everyone..she even opened her eyes for Opi!!! Priceless moments:)

Tom and Meagan were able to visit us the next Saturday to meet Morgen. A HUGE thanks to them for spending 3-4 hours with Maddie; she was super excited to show off her lincoln log and play doh skills...and come to find out..Onkel Tom was super excited about his play-doh skills also...we had a great visit with the topped off with...pizza.
On Sunday Onkel Mike and Amber came to visit...to meet Morgen for the first time. They were super excited..and Morgen was super sleepy....Later that day Omi and Opi and Oma Resee and Opa Franz stopped by to meet Morgen..Oma Resee was in love...and was just over the moon...another awesome moment. Oh!! And Oma Resee cooked for us!!! THANK YOU!! You can never go wrong with a full meal from Oma:) After a quick visit from Grandpa and Grandma Meyer as they were heading out of town (Grandpa first met Morgen:) the first couple days visits were complete...:)
Wow...crazy first week huh!!!!!
Thanks to all our family for their love, visits and gifts during this exciting time...we really appreciate it...it is great to know we are surrounded by such phenomenal family and friends!!!
