Wow,
That is all I have to say of the last six months...WOW. What a blessing our family is. We have just been a crazy happy family and feel so blessed and thankful. Little Morgen, you are AWESOME...so many things can be said for how much you have grown..and your little crazy intuitive personality really has come through. You are an awesome little sister, and your big sister Madeline just bursts at the seams ready to love you and play with you.
It really is crazy how much both girls are the same, yet COMPLETELY different. The one similarity both girls share is that they don't seem to want to sleep..ever....from Madeline negotiating another bedtime snack to Morgen waking up multiple times during the evening to "snuggle" this has been our world the last six months...well, lets face it...HUGE props to super Mom Melissa since she takes the majority of the night time antics with little Morgen.
So its pretty crazy...Morgen is a mover and a shaker..which we totally didn't expect given her "in utero" state...at one point we would sit and wait for her to move before she was born..but it seems that once she was born she said to herself..."OK..what can I investigate?" We should have known when she lifted her head up 30 seconds after she was born..if we thought we could contain her..we were sorely mistaken! And it just went on from there...on September 22nd she rolled back to tummy..which followed by rolling across the floor into things...and the week of Christmas is coming up and she is doing what I classify as crawling...on all fours. It was funny...we went to her three month appointment and she had just started to roll....and the doctor asked how it was going..and i told her if I put Morgen on the ground she would roll out the door. Melissa and I always joke that she's going to be driving soon!
Oh..and the cooing has started...Morgen likes to coo in her crib in the morning..it actually sounds a little like an owl..but the smile and the kicking of her legs when you come in and pick her up is priceless..she's really happy to begin the day..probably so she can get EVERYWHERE she isn't supposed to be.
So Morgen doesn't really wail...she "baby squawk complains" I would describe this as a more of an annoying cry...not annoying in the sense that it hurts your ears..but that SHE is annoyed cause she isn't in a place she wants to be...you see...when you answer it..it is really a means to an end...cause basically she either wants you to hold her facing out so she can kick her legs and see...anything..or simply put her down on the ground so she can wiggle and roll..so far she has rolled into the "command center" as well as maneuvered her legs under the couch...yeah...she's everywhere.....
Morgen has also started some "solid" foods..and by that I mean mush foods...it was funny..she was different from Madeline in that sense also..we started foods around six months with Madeline..and she wanted nothing to do with them...FYI..now she LOVES food! Morgen on the other hand couldn't wait to get her face in anything at four and a half months..we waited until five months and she went gangbusters with rice cereal, oatmeal, carrots and squash. Applesauce is another story..she kind of makes a face when she eats it...:) And of course she always prefers milk.
Madeline LOVES her little sister, and it is really fun to see them interact with each other. Mom and Dad just stand back and watch because it seems Madeline is the ONLY one who at this point can make Morgen belly laugh, cackle and giggle uncontrollably. It must be a sister thing. Madeline gets in her face and makes faces and talks to her and Morgen thinks it is the silliest thing..and then they laugh at each other...it really is cute. Madeline has been such a big help around the house, from getting diapers and cremes to entertaining Morgen, she is always one to be "all in" the current situation..which is awesome. Just sitting back and watching our two girls is an event we really look forward to. Madeline in the process has been getting so independent; she relishes the fact she has a little sister..but yet also that she is the big sister that can do things Morgen can't do yet..and reminds us so:) There isn't a day that goes by where the family is lacking in some artistic project, whether it be a rendition of a drawing..or Madeline's artistic nature coming across in her selection of attire in the morning. Both girls are really good kids. Our family is TRULY blessed and Melissa and I are thankful to God for both of them!
