State Park Challenge #2: Lake Kegonsa State Park (05.14.2017)
Although our visit was 2.5 hours, of that time:
10% was spent walking a short trail twice (total probably 1 mile)
40% was at the beach playground
40% was spent by the Meyer-lings throwing rocks in the lake
and the final 10% was spent snacking (these Meyer's eat a lot!)
Having experienced a very small space in the park, I will say our focus on the lake was ON PURPOSE because: 1) mosquitoes are already rampant (therefore the wetlands trail was a no go) and 2) ticks are horrific (I saw one on my pants even though we had been on a paved trail...therefore no go on the Oaks trail).
However, the lake is beautiful and the weather was perfect. Lots of picnic tables, grills and a small beach (and a separate small beach for pets). And of course, an awesome playground space!
Madeline quote: "This is my favorite park ever. I don't want to leave."
