Brace Yourself

Lets face it, we're not professional writers. In fact, I will do my best to keep the spelling errors to a minimum. The following are random thoughts as we reflect on life and our beautiful family. Hope family and friends enjoy!

State Park Challenge #13: Mill Bluff State Park (03.30.18)

We took the opportunity we had: Spring Break & a Good Friday vacation day for the family.  On Thursday we surprised the girls, drove to Tomah, and took advantage of a hotel with a pretty cool pool set-up: with a few slides and a hot tub. On Friday, we hit the trails at two of the smaller State Parks (considering distance of available hiking trails).  Our first visit was to Mill Bluff State Park.

Technically, this park was not yet "open" for the season and so visitors park outside the fee area and hike in; this was only of interest because that also meant the bathrooms were locked!

We arrived around 10 am, coffee in hand (for the grown-ups), and walked the Camel's Bluff Trail.  The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and we still found a few icy/snow patches along this 1.25 mile trail. It was actually a beautiful morning and a beautiful walk. We then found the trail head for the climb up Mill Bluff.  We climbed up the 223 stone steps, installed in the 1930's, which bring you to the summit of this bluff.  The girls were happy to also play a few minutes on the playground before we made the trek on to our next Challenge location...
