Brace Yourself

Lets face it, we're not professional writers. In fact, I will do my best to keep the spelling errors to a minimum. The following are random thoughts as we reflect on life and our beautiful family. Hope family and friends enjoy!

State Park Challenge #12: Governor Nelson State Park (03.18.18)

How do you like to spend a brisk, sunny Sunday? The Meyer Family decided to take on our next State Park Challenge site, at nearby Governor Nelson State Park. The hike was short and muddy, but still fun. We accessed the Woodland Trail, but soon wound down the Redtail Hawk Trail, which wound through the drier prairie land, instead of the muddy woods. As a bonus, the name matched the Horizon School mascot. (Go Horizon Redtail Hawks!)  After the walk, we found a picnic table next to the beach and overlooking Lake Mendota.  We all enjoyed lunch and the girls enjoyed the beach - even though it was too cold to swim.  This trip is a great memory and we are looking forward to our next adventure.
