Brace Yourself

Lets face it, we're not professional writers. In fact, I will do my best to keep the spelling errors to a minimum. The following are random thoughts as we reflect on life and our beautiful family. Hope family and friends enjoy!

State Park Challenge #42: High Cliff State Park (07.18.-7.19 , 2020)

This year we booked a camping warm-up, in advance of our planned camping adventure with the Cooper family in August. Our destination: High Cliff State Park. It was the perfect adventure park! We arrived around 2:30 p.m. and set up camp. The girls were THRILLED. We then hiked them along the Lime Kiln trail, which wound us down to Lake Winnebago and along the Niagara Escarpment. We saw the ruins for a lime factory that was operational for 100 years (1856-1956), and got the girls some swim time in at the beach! Then it was time for campfire cooking and s'mores, and a family game of Trouble before bedtime. It would NOT be a Meyer camp adventure without a nice rain (thunderstorm), so we endured that in the middle of the night as well. After breakfast, we hiked two short trails: The Indian Mound Trail and the Butterfly Pond trails. We capped off the weekend with an ice cream cone and came home to clean-up and dry-out. There isn't much more fun to be had than a Meyer State Park Challenge weekend!
