Brace Yourself

Lets face it, we're not professional writers. In fact, I will do my best to keep the spelling errors to a minimum. The following are random thoughts as we reflect on life and our beautiful family. Hope family and friends enjoy!

State Park Challenge #64: Peshtigo River State Forest (2.26.2022)

Our final destination took us waaaay out into the country. This area is advertised as a fly fishing mecca of sorts, which we knew we wouldn't be taking advantage of, even in the summer. So we decided to enjoy the Seymour trail, which was dedicated to hiking/snowshoeing (as another trail system was groomed for skiing). Upon entering the area, we noted that there were no tracks, which also confirms our observation that we were really, really in a remote area. We followed a trail of sorts, into a Y pattern (named Meyer Trail, by us). That trek lasted only a 1/4 mile, and so we tried forging another route where we had seen a fence blocking access. As there was no signage or footprints for us to follow, it was hard: 8 inches of snow! and kind of eerie. We truly made the best of it, but conceded that the area is best suited for people on the water or on snowmobiles. Which only meant it was time to go back to the resort and enjoy the pool. Thank you family for adventuring literally into the unknown every time!
