Would describe our daughter....if of course she is developing a resume and starting the job application process...hey...the job market is struggling right now...why not recognize the qualities and note them for further reference...:)...anywho.....
So we have had a FUN last couple weeks. Madeline is definitely growing up fast and it is really fun to hang out with her as a family since she is such a social person and is interested in EVERYTHING around her.
The first week of August Madeline was able to meet the Schweinert side of the family at the annual family reunion. She did GREAT! She was all smiles.....and enjoyed seeing the new faces as she was passed around like a football:) (Daddy's saying:) Madeline especially liked Tanta (aunt) Aunnie who make the funniest faces and made her laugh..and laugh!
Speaking of football....NFL season is fast approaching, and a week ago Maddie did her due diligence of dressing up in her Green Bay Packer onesie to cheer on the pack as they took on the Browns. Even though they fell short..she wasn't too disappointed because she was sleeping.....Daddy really looks forward to getting her involved cheering on the Pack as well as the Badgers this fall...Football is upon us!!
Early in August Maddie got to meet Lindsay and Greg Tinberg as they stopped by to hang out for the weekend. The ladies had fun taking a walk and practicing with fondent (sp). It turned out really well! Don't tell Madeline, but Mommy has a special butterfly cake planned for her first birthday! The guys got a good round of golf in. Was a HOT day...definitely got a workout walking that day. We played The Bridges Golf Course...which was nice...didn't realize it was directly underneath the final approach for Dane County Regional Airport.
This past weekend Mommy, Oma and Opa, and Maddie went to the Sun Prairie corn festival. Maddie picked out 27 specific ears of corn for the coming late summer and winter. She personally wants one saved and frozen in the deep freeze so she can eat it when she gets teeth...which are coming...hence the drool factory post.....Seriously though...they all had fun visiting at the festival, sampling the delicious corn and of course having ice cream....I have a feeling this is definitely going to be a yearly event. Corn roast anyone next year????!!!!
In addition to the corn festival, Mommy, Daddy and Maddie went and visited the Madison farmer's market this past Saturday morning. We went through it pretty quickly, since it was the day of the mini-marathon, but not before Mommy and Daddy could get their scones...and of course Daddy had his beef sticks....Maddie wanted a scone...but got milk instead. We decided not to "Bjorn-it" this time, but we think Maddie missed looking out at everyone while we were walking since she was constantly lifting her head and doing "crunches" in the stroller. Our kid is going to have abs of steel.
All in all, it has been fun. Mommy and Maddie have had a ton of fun hanging out this weekend while Daddy has been working, and he always likes to come home to smiles all around. Here are a couple of other fun things that have "developed" in the past month....
- We now roll over consistently from back to tummy...sometimes in the crib...then we look up and smile.
- It is now not as interesting to be on our back. We need to sit up like a big girl. And she can, with a little help of course.
- We want to grab our bottle, so Mommy gave Maddie a sippy cup...she does pretty well...doesn't actually drink much...just sucks on it...and it occasionally gets thrown...but that is pretty funny.
- Mommy and Maddie have GREAT conversations in the car and in the morning. Maddie is "talking" and expresses her opinions about the weather, current events and of course the fact that she peed through her sheet.
- We now eat our feet.
- We "dance" in front of the mirror...literally...our kid takes after Daddy...always gotta be checking herself out in the mirror.
Oh..and in writing all this...I forgot to relate it to the title.......the social part is easy...she LOVES seeing new people and is always an angel and smiling and talking and cooing when they are around...multitasking...lets just say that lately what goes in and what comes out happens simultaneously.
