Family Polka

A few days ago Madeline learned to polka, and once the quick lesson was finished..she...was....hooked!  It was actually a funny scenario and is captured for eternity on video.  Jon's parents were in town and presented him with a most excellent father's day card, it wasn't just any card, it was huge colorful card with an inside surprise.  Maddie found out about that inside surprise when Melissa handed it to her.  She stared at the cover..said "like this...!!!" and then opened it...Jon watched her as she jumped back..still held onto the card and her eyes got big...the card belted out "The Beer Barrel Polka!" complete with animated mugs....."MORE!!!, MORE!!!!"  So Melissa and I started to dance...we danced in the kitchen while Maddie opened and shut the card multiple times until we all gathered in a circle holding hands and polkaaaiiinnng together...since then the kitchen has become our dance floor:) Jon remembers fondly as this event reminds him doing the polka with Oma Lehner and her singing "In heaven there is no beer...that's why we drink it here...the...whole...time....."
Maddie is all smiles and now continually asks to polka...hey!! gotta get her started early so she can light up the dance floor!
