The Potty

This was entertaining the other day and I know Maddie will one day read this and become red faced with embarrassment....well, we are getting more and more into the process of potty training.  The good ole white plastic potty has finally been recognized as more than a piece of furniture to stick toys, feet, books and clothes into...it actually has a purpose.  Maddie is pretty smart, and she knows what it is for....and the time is getting near as she is telling us when she needs a diaper change.  So we are starting consistent potty parties on the potty.  The other day she sat for a half and hour...Papa went to put laundry away, and when he came back she was sitting contently reading a book (the other six were stacked next to her, by her request) but as I entered the bathroom IT STUNK....after further investigation it was a toot...a powerful toot...no dice.
Later that day after Mama came home from work we tried again by her request...again after a half an hour as Mama was sitting with her...she gave this face..and let out a HUGE loud toot...all of a sudden I heard crying and screams..apparantly the toot was powerful enough to scare the living daylights out of her......and that was the end of a hard half an hours work...back to the drawing board...but we have a special treat up our hands...chocolate chips...and ironically these little candies are the reward for going........hmmm...think about it..maybe we should revisit our reward system....!
