This park is beautiful. Stunning. Picturesque. What a way to cap off our weekend camping event!
After celebrating the 40th anniversary of Ralph and Phyllis, we set off to see what Hartman Creek had to offer and we were not disappointed!
Our Meyer family enjoyed just over 3 miles of trails, including a 1 mile trek on the Dike Trail between Mid and Hartman lakes. We also hiked the 1 mile Pope Lake Trial, through a pine tree 'plantation'; from the trail, you could peek between the trees to see serene Pope Lake. The girls enjoyed playing in the sand on the beach and at the playground (it was too cold for swimming!) Before we headed out, we enjoyed a picnic in the parking lot, and then had an opportunity to visit the historic Hellestad House, which is a restored log cabin that was built in the 1800s.
We would definitely have been able to spend more time here if we had the energy. Instead, we will have to come back sometime to explore some more.
