Brace Yourself

Lets face it, we're not professional writers. In fact, I will do my best to keep the spelling errors to a minimum. The following are random thoughts as we reflect on life and our beautiful family. Hope family and friends enjoy!

State Park Challenge #7: Merrick State Park (09.02.17)

We had a Little House inspired adventure over Labor Day weekend with the Tinberg Family.  As part of this we were able to enjoy time at Merrick State Park.  This park is narrow, with only a few, short trails.  We did just over a mile hike through a wooded area, enjoyed a delicious picnic lunch and playground time.
After resting a bit, Greg & Linsay, and Melissa & Morgen jumped aboard canoes to explore (a very short) bit of the canoe trail!  Although we only lasted about 30 minutes in the water, it was beautiful and relaxing paddle time.  Morgen commented on lily pads and 'bugs' she heard as we crossed the waters.  A few larger, motor boats did cross our paths, but the group maneuvered through the wake like pro's.  We felt accomplished enjoying our first water-oriented park adventure, and hopefully next time Madeline & Jon will have the opportunity to appreciate the park from the water.
