After an exhausting morning, we headed over to Brunet Island State Park to see if we could turn events around. And we did! What a cute little gem. The park appears to be geared toward campers, but short trails wind around the island, connecting the beach, boat access and campground. We wandered along the river on the Spruce Trail, and wound across the island (and through the forested area) along the Timber Trail. The girls then spent about 40 minutes eating snacks and enjoying the playground. The sun was shining and all was well once again!
Although not a state park, our dinner spot is worth mentioning. Together Farms hosted Burger Night; it's a family farm serving amazing fare and we loved every minute of our time at the farm. Eight thumbs up from the Meyer Family!
