Keep in mind that prior to our state park challenge weekend, Morgen informed us that she did NOT want to visit any more parks. Ha! Our Sunday challenge events had more walking in store for her. Our morning hike was just over 2 miles at Hoffman Hills state recreation area. The trails at this park have awesome names! Had Jon and I traveled her alone, we definitely would have tackled the 'difficult' ones: Star Wars and Juba's Run. However, with girls in tow we scaled back to intermediate, and tackled the Skyline and Spruce Run trails, which took us to Mt. Fuji. This area is super hilly, and epitomizes the glacial terrain. Interesting events:
1) we saw a hardcore hiker carrying a bag of solar salt (obviously in training for an event);
2) a moth chased Jon down the trial!; and
3) bear scat.
Yes; as we continue to go north, we may need to invest in bear spray in order to complete the challenge!
